Richard Lowe, 1941-2018

Visitation will take place 5:00-7:00 p.m., Monday, April 9 at Memorial Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, April 10 at Memorial Funeral Home with the Pastor Tracy Cook officiating. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery.Richard was born Feb. 2, 1941 at Brown Station to James H. E. Lowe, Sr. and Mary S. (McBaine) Lowe Lee. They have preceded him in death.On August 12, 1960, Richard was united in marriage to Mildred Heuer Lowe who survives in their home.Richard worked at the Daniel Boone Hotel at a very early age. He cooked for several years at Town and Country Bowling Lanes and Max’s Campus Snacks. He retired from Norfolk-Southern railroad in June of 1980.Richard always loved talking to people. He enjoyed deer hunting. He loved his grandchildren and the time he spent with them.Richard is survived by his wife, Mildred; daughter, Donna J. Lowe, two sons, William “Billy" B. Lowe and Rafael A Castillo; grandson, Richard Seth Lowe; granddaughter, Kayla (Spencer) Rice; great-granddaughter, Avery M. Rice; brother, Joseph Lowe; sister, Dollie M. Riess; several nieces, nephews and cousins.Richard was preceded in death by three brothers, James, Edmund, and Harry; three sisters, Mary Biddle (Gordon), Mildred Miner, and Margaret Lowe; and son, Richard G. “Rickie” Lowe, Jr.Memorials are suggested to the Boone County Fire Protection DistrictOnline condolences may be made at www.memorialfuneralhomeandcemetery.com.
